Track double shows touch of the master

VETERAN harness racing trainer Graeme Lang may not have been on hand to accept his winnings at Cranbourne on Saturday night … but the Melton mentor would have been grinning ear to ear after producing a stable double.
Lang is still recovering from a fall in July that he describes as the most serious injury he has had.
And so it was left to his son Gavin and stable employee Kymberlie Hobby to manage the team at Cranbourne.
Gavin Lang started the ball rolling with a come-from-behind win on short-priced favourite LomboToscannini in the first race, the Ted Bull Funeral Services Pace.
The four-year-old son of Bettors Delight looked well graded and swept to a convincing win over Power Of Babel and Popeye Village.
Hobby later combined with five-year-old mare TianaBromac to win the Hygain Feeds Pace. Spearing straight to the lead from the mobile barrier, TianaBromac rated a slick 1:58.3 to down favourite Meetthenewboss and handy performer Wattabout A Smile.
TianaBromac is part-owned by Lang and is a half-sister to free-for-all performer TanabiBromac, who has amassed over $400,000 in stakesmoney from 20 wins.
Her future no doubt rests in the breeding barn, but until then TianaBromac should continue to provide Lang with a reason to get back to the track.
There is another harness racing meeting at Cranbourne on Sunday.
