Grand bus plan

AN expanded bus service, co-ordinated train timetables and the immediate delivery of the Cranbourne East railway station.
These are just a few of the requests made to the State Government from the City of Casey to improve public transport in the municipality to cater for its growing population.
Casey Council is advocating for an expanded bus service, including a new Smart Bus service that connects Dandenong to Frankston via Narre Warren and Cranbourne, an upgrade to the existing route 828 to Smart Bus service, and better bus service connecting Casey residents to the Dandenong South employment area.
In addition to expanding a bus service, Casey Council is advocating for the immediate construction of the Cranbourne East railway station, 100 additional car parking spaces at Narre Warren station and for Lynbrook and Hallam railway stations to be upgraded to premium stations to provide commuters with improved security and customer service, toilet facilities and standards similar to metropolitan areas.
Casey residents on Berwick Cranbourne-News Facebook page agreed. Judie Hendrick wanted a Cranbourne to Berwick bus which stopped at the Casey Hospital, Monash University and Tafe. “Not all of us drive around here!” she said.
Andrew Swain said there was no enough public transport to and from Devon Meadows.- Lia Bichel
