THE ladies at the Pakenham Golf Club have had a hectic schedule in recent times and the sweet swinging doesn’t look like abating in the near future.
Over the last few weeks the women have travelled far and wide around Gippsland to participate in inter-club challenges and championships.
Sue King is one of the women who have thrived on the increased workload and her recent successes have earned her the title of ‘Mrs Consistency’. King last week added the October monthly medal to her ever-increasing list of achievements. King recently combined with Yvonne Barrot to win both the 18-hole and 27-hole club foursomes events and has had success at away clubs over the last few weeks as well.
King’s success follows on from fellow Pakenham member Shirley Robert’s recent victory in the All-Gippsland Championships which were played at the Moe Golf club.
The next few weeks are busy for the women.
This Thursday 13 October is the all important Medal of Medallist event, where the winners from the previous 12 monthly medals clash for the coveted title. Mrs Consistency could be hard to beat.
Then it’s back on the road as the women make the short trip to the neighbouring Garfield Golf Club for the Garfield versus Pakenham Challenge on Tuesday 25 October.
On Thursday 27 October the women compete in the Pakenham Spring Carnival golf day and this is closely followed up by the Annual tournament which runs from 3 to 6 November.
Phew … that really is a hectic schedule of big events.
‘Mrs Consistency’ must be rubbing her hands together.
King is queen of the greens
