MORE than 900 people checked out the artwork from some of the country’s most prominent artists at the City of Casey Council Chamber recently.
Kevin Hill’s Top Ten Australia Artists art show was held on 8 and 9 October and hosted by the City of Casey. It showcased quality, original paintings from a variety of talented artists from around Australia and Casey, including guest artist Doveton residents Phil Nevin and prize winning Casey artist Ern Trembath.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes said this was the seventh year Casey has hosted the free event.
“Hundreds of local residents and people from across Victoria travel to Casey to see this magnificent exhibition and we are proud to be the only Victorian city to host this cultural event,” Cr Balmes said.
“Strength in the arts is a positive sign for a strong and well- connected community, and it’s something that the City of Casey is focused on increasing in our community.”
Other artists who exhibited at the show included Paul Margocsy, Max Mannix, David Brayshaw, Werner Filipich, Ian Hansen, James Hough, Otto Kuster, Gary Myers, Ramon Ward-Thompson and John Vander, with selected artworks by Richard Bogusz, Kevin Best, Bill Ambagtsheer and Pro Hart.
Ten paintings were given away, plus the lucky door prize of a James Hough painting was won by a Berwick resident.
