Fenton’s record

By David Nagel
NARRE Warren little athletes were happy to be back at the Dandenong Little Athletics Centre on Saturday morning, full of enthusiasm after the bad weather of the previous week.
A full program of events greeted the athletes this week and everyone was raring to go.
Christopher Fenton added to his club records in the 800m and 1500m this season with a win in the under 13s 1300m Steeplechase. Fenton ran 4:47.53 breaking the old record of 4:48.80, which was created by a young Michael Riseley in March 2002. Riseley currently plays for Casey Scorpions and is the brother of Jeff Riseley who is in training for the 2012 London Olympics.
This Friday’s twilight program is the last competition before the Christmas break which will commence at 5.30pm.
Parents are reminded to sign as early as possible for duty to ensure a prompt start to the program.
The club’s Christmas break up is on Thursday 15 December from 5pm in the clubrooms at Max Pawsey Reserve.
The club’s major fundraiser, the annual Bunnings barbecue at the Fountain Gate store is on Sunday 18 December. Keep this date circled on the calendar.
Club training is on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 6pm at Max Pawsey Reserve, Fountain Drive, Narre Warren. For membership information call Kerry on 9703 2239.
