A NEW facility in the City of Casey will service a number of local sporting clubs this year.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz officially opened the Banjo Paterson Reserve Pavilion last month.
At the opening of the pavilion, which has been delivered by the council in partnership with the Federal Government, Cr Aziz said it was wonderful to open another first class sporting facility in the City of Casey.
“We love sport in Casey and this new pavilion will ensure that three local clubs, Lynbrook Auskick, Lynbrook Football Club and Lynbrook Cricket Club, have the facilities they need to support their players and get more people involved,” he said.
“The new Banjo Paterson Reserve Pavilion not only adds to the amenity of the reserve, with its modern architectural design, it also gives clubs access to change rooms, toilets, storage rooms and a full-size kitchen and canteen servery.”
The council invested $110,000 in the pavilion, and the Federal Government provided $160,000 to fund the $270,000 pavilion.
