Ladies make their move

THE Narre Warren Bowls Club had a mixed week with two wins and two losses in pennant competition.
The highlight of the week was the win of the Tuesday pennant side, which had its first win for the season with a 53-48 score line. It was a well deserved win and a win for the fairer sex with the 12 Narre ladies taking on seven male bowlers and five ladies. T. Henneman, P. Uren, N. Pugh and E. Gibb lost 9-22. R. Rasmussen, E. VanMaanen, W. Harringsma and J. Naughton won 25-12. S. Lapham, H. Belcher, M. Horton and S. Bell won 19-14.

@BT Sub Sport News:SATURDAY

IT was a disappointing day for Division 3 on Saturday with the team going down to Cheltenham by 32 shots. Only one rink scored and that was the only point to be salvaged from the wreck. The loss cost Narre second place on the ladder and a slide down to fourth and with four rounds to go the team will have to find some form or risk missing out on the play-offs.
L. Klarica, A. Kidd, K. Mark and I. Brotherton lost 14-22. G. Cadman, R. Hoare, M. Fitt and J. Parker tied on 19. E. Veraga, S. Belcher, P. O’Day and G. Manifold lost 17-22. S. Bell, W. Harringsma, R. Lane and B. Brewster lost 12-31.
Division 5 kept its finals hopes alive with a comfortable 29-shot win against the Dandenong Club. With three rinks winning and the losing rink going down by just one shot on the last end it was a good result which sees the team now third on the ladder.
M. Graham, S. Lapham, K. Davis and N. Hosmer lost 15/16. M. Rudelic, J. Zanon, J. Sheahan and M. Horton won 25/15. J. Van Hout, L. O’Brien, R. Pigdon and F. Fox won 25/16. N. Bell, J. Hickman, S. Robinson and P. Castricum won 21/10.
Division 7 suffered its worst loss for the season losing to cellar-dwellers Elsternwick Park in a game they had to win. The team is still fourth on the ladder but has three very tough matches to contend with as the season draws to a close.
K. Fitzsimons, C. Lapham, H. McCombe and J. Green lost 16/24. J. Norman, K. Shell, P. Rouse and G. Moxey lost 16/21. J. Ducats, J. Scanlan, J. Schwennesen and S. Birkett lost 15/17. C. Bell. R. Pompr, B. Potter and D. Rosario won 20/14.
