ASH Henry (6/33) terrorised the Buckley Ridges (124) batsmen this round as he guided Berwick (3/40) into a dominant position.
Henry, the Berwick legspinner, ripped through the Ridges’ middle order, to remove the sloggers. Te Ahu Davis and with an incredible piece of fielding, jumped up to his left and caught Daniel Watson off his own bowling to leave Buckley Ridges 6/65.
The fightback came in earnest from Shaun Ferreira (43), who ensured the Park Oval boys had something to defend. Ferreira, with a hitting cameo from Jeremy Kuru, pushed the score to 124, with the last three wickets adding 55. Ash Perrin (3/14) bowled a good line all day and knocked over the important wickets of Chris Batchelor and Matt Goodwright.
Buckley Ridges managed to knock over three Berwick batsmen before stumps. Kuru (2/19) and Davis (1/16) claimed a couple of early wickets, but with Berwick shuffling their batting order around to see out the last 15 overs of the day, the Bears will go in heavy-price favourites for this week. Gavan Wills retired hurt on 1.

The Booth troops rallied for Hallam Kalora Park (260) as they posted a tough chase for Narre Warren this week.
Leigh (84 not out) and Cory (51) were the big contributors as Hallam Kalora Park managed to negate the influence of the usually explosive Dushan Wickramaratne (1/48).
Richard Faust (2/24), Chris Edwards (2/25) and Jarryd Straker (2/44) claimed the wickets for the Magpies as the Booths smashed all takers to the four corners of Hallam Rec Reserve.
Good cameo innings from Johan Vorster (27), Calvin Barlow (25) and a good opening partnership from Rob Parker (26) and Nirman Jayasinghe (23) steered Hallam Kalora Park past 250.
@BT Sub Sport News:DOVETON v SPRINGVALE SOUTH
Nick Fairbank (88) and Jason Arnberger (85) peppered the boundaries for Doveton (9/293cc) as Springvale South was left to their mercy.
No Springvale South bowler was spared from their carnage as eight bowlers were used to find some way past the Doveton middle order wallopers. They were both dismissed nearing their centuries, but by then the Doves had hit Springvale South into a corner.
Andrew Sharp (4/53) cleaned up the tail, leaving a lot of work for the Springvale South top order this weekend.
@BT Sub Sport News:DANDENONG WEST v HEINZ SOUTH DISTRICTS
Heinz (8/227cc) posted a difficult chase for Dandenong West, with Trevor Davies (85 not out) and Navoda Ganegoda (53) piling on the runs in an 82-run partnership.
Peter Atkinson (4/41) continued his great form with the ball for Dandenong West.

@BT Sub Sport News:CRANBOURNE v SILVERTON
Rob Cleland made his first century for Cranbourne (8/385cc) in resounding fashion, smashing 146 not out with 20 fours as the home side made light work of the Silverton bowling attack.
Everyone got a start for Cranbourne, as the openers Jason Hameetaman (39) and Matt Darvell (24) added 67 for the first wicket. Cleland watched a Cranbourne collapse unfold around him, as the Eagles went from 0/67 to 6/100.
Cleland and Scott Eastwood (66) rallied to add 121 for the seventh wicket, before the former Endeavour Hills bowler Daniel Evans (42) and number 10 Nathan Lambden (34 not out) made valuable runs with Cleland to get Cranbourne to 385 at their closed completion.
Silverton used eight bowlers to stop the bleeding, with Justin King (4/70) the most successful in that endeavour.
@BT Sub Sport News:NARRE NORTH v FOUNTAIN GATE
John Mirranay (103), Stewart Scanlon (72) and Dylan Bracebridge (57) were Fountain Gate’s (7/302cc) chief destroyers of Narre North, as the Gators piled on the runs at Narre Warren North Reserve.
Mirranay struck his first turf century and the Norths could only watch on with horror as the runs flowed rapidly for Fountain Gate.
Ben Doran (2/28) was the best of Narre North’s bowlers.
@BT Sub Sport News:ST BRIGID’S/ST LOUIS v NARRE SOUTH
Kyle Hardy’s half-century, with good support from Michael Cronin (48) and Cory Bevan (46), saw Narre South (7/263cc). Narre South was set up by a 72-run opening partnership between Bevan and captain Brendan Wilson (19) and from there the runs continued to accumulate. Rory Williams (3/49) had the most success for the Saints.
