ONE of the rarest four-peats in senior football was completed this week by Hallam VWFL player Hannah Scott.
Scott, 22, from Bonbeach, ticked off the VWFL South East Division’s league best and fairest and Hallam club best and fairest to go with her premiership best on ground medal and premiership medallion from Hallam’s 14-point victory over St John’s.
She polled 20 votes, with five best on ground performances, to edge out Chirnside Park’s Kirsty Turner by one vote.
She was also part of Hallam’s 2011 premiership over Cranbourne and a member of the Vic Metro team, making the last two seasons extremely productive for the young midfielder.
“It’s been a pretty amazing year,” Scott said.
“It’s hard to put into words, back-to-back premierships, undefeated and then best on ground, and two best and fairest awards – I think it’s pretty humbling and I didn’t expect any of it so it’s been surprising for me.”
“I don’t go out aiming to get the awards – I go out to play the game so it’s a very big honour.”
The insider midfielder was able to ramp up her input for the Hawks this season, playing 14 games up from only five last year.
Last year I only played five games, so it’s been a more stable year footy wise for me,” Scott said.
“It’s a little bit better than our premiership last season, defending the premiership and being that little bit closer with all the girls after another year.”
Scott’s year was capped off with her invitation to the VWFL Academy and a spot in the Vic Metro team that easily dispatched Vic Country by 69 points.
Whether Hallam gets promoted to Premier League is yet to be decided, but Scott has made her intentions clear that she wants to play in the highest standard competition eventually.
“I am very keen to play premier league – I’m not too sure what I will do next season, but I will be looking to take my footy as far as I can as it’s what I love doing,” Scott said.
