SHE faced battles of her own, undergoing life threatening brain surgery at the beginning of 2011.
But this didn’t stop Emily Stevens from doing what she could to help others.
In an effort to raise money for the fight against cancer, the 18-year-old shaved her hair as part of the World’s Greatest Shave and managed to raise $5200.
Despite losing her long, blonde locks, the Berwick teen was not phased.
“The shave was amazing,” she said.
“I loved it and would do it again.”
The former St Margaret’s student lost 60cm off her hair, and was thrilled to have the support of so many people.
Emily said she could not have done it without her family members, as well as best friends and her boyfriend by her side.
She also paid a special mention to her local sporting club which hosted her shave.
“The Berwick Netball Club held the event amazingly,” she said.
The shave participant said the rewarding experience is something she advises for everyone.
“This experience was an amazing one and I certainly would recommend it to everyone,” she said.
Happy to part
