A time-consuming Reed

By BRIDGET SCOTT

FIRST-TIME author Judith Reed finally had the chance to show her family and friends the end product of what has occupied her all these years.
It was not an easy task writing her auto-biography, but after years of hard work, a 436 page book now details the events of her life.
To launch her auto-biography, the Narre Warren North resident hosted a high-tea at her home with 50 of her closest friends and family. At the high-tea Ms Reed presented the book, The Unfinished Tapestry – a name which holds significant meaning for Judith.
Inspiration for the book’s title came from an intricate and detailed tapestry Ms Reed has been working on.
“I chose this title because the tapestry is unfinished and so too is my life,” she said.
Ms Reed said that her book has three main themes; love, challenges and wonder.
She dedicated different chapters to different stages in her life, and her biography explores both the triumphs and tribulations of her interesting journey.
The book which is registered with Canberra National Library and the Victorian National Library also includes poems and photos.
The author said it was a relief to finally present it.
With her second book already in the works, Ms Reed commented that it was an enjoyable experience to detail her life.
“It was rewarding to write all that down,” she said.
“It was nice for me to relive my life, over again … including the sad moments.”
Although she mentioned the book does target an older audience, it has also been written for the benefit of anyone, of any age.
“It was written for future generations, and to describe how people lived in my lifetime,” she said.
