Women work at networking

By BRIDGET SCOTT

THERE was no lack of energy at a meeting of local business owners last Tuesday.
Both members and non-members of the Women Making it Work (WMIW) group met at Sage Restaurant in Berwick to network and share ideas about their own businesses.
The locally run group, which was established in 2005, welcomes local business owners and encourages both men and women to share ideas and help each other better their business skills.
About 30 Cardinia Shire and Casey residents gathered to share their businesses with one another over breakfast.
Each attendee is given a minute to formally present their business to other visitors, after which there is the chance to network with each other.
Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings, with the opportunity available to become a member.
Committee member of the Women Making it Work board Megan Glew officiated the morning.
Helen Ward from Design Wordz also addressed the the guests, mentioning that “the image of you and your business is projected in everything you do.”
Owners of a variety of companies attended the morning, including life coaches, graphic designers, photographers and counsellors.
Later this year in July, there will be a WMIW Business Conference at the Narre Warren Learning Centre, before the annual Gala Dinner and AGM in August.
