Gran’s a lucky winner

By LIA SPENCER

A WOMAN was shocked to learn she was a million dollars richer after purchasing a lotto ticket from an Endeavour Hills shop.
The grandmother aged in her 60s visited Endeavour Lotto in Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre last week where she purchased her winning five-game marked Wednesday Lotto entry for 15 May. She was ecstatic when a staff member broke the news that she was now a millionaire.
“When the girl from the counter checked my Lotto ticket and said she needed to speak to me privately I thought, God, what have I done wrong?,” the winner said.
“When she whispered that I’d won $1 million with my Wednesday Lotto entry I thought for sure she was joking!
“Six months ago I changed my regular lotto numbers to include birthdays of my children and grandchildren, and those are the numbers I won with last night.”
The winning numbers in the draw 3243 on 15 May were 18, 8, 20, 22, 26 and 30 with the supplementary numbers 1 and 4.
The winning woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she and her husband would take a holiday overseas and that the win meant she could retire early.
This is the second major lotto win Endeavour Lotto has sold in nine months, after selling a TattsLotto entry worth $1,052,631.58 in August last year.
Rajeev Goel, who own’s the shop with Sandeet Kumar, said he was thrilled with the news.
“I am sure we have a lucky store,” Mr Goel said.
The same week, someone who purchased a TattsLotto entry in Narre Warren won a division one prize worth more than $600,000. Tatts is waiting for the mystery owner of the unregistered winning entry from the draw 3321 to come forward and claim their prize. Tatts encourages all TattsLotto players who purchased an entry from Fountain Gate Lotto Dreams, Kiosk 202 in Fountain Gate Shopping Centre on Magid Drive in Narre Warren to check their tickets. The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3321 on 18 May were 14, 31, 16, 25, 6 and 3 with the supplementary numbers 9 and 35.
