POLICE set up an information caravan this week as part of their investigation into a life-threatening attack of an elderly woman in Endeavour Hills last month.
About 3.30pm on 21 May, a man entered a house on Georgette Crescent and seriously assaulted the 73-year-old female occupant with a sharp object.
She received injuries to her neck before the man left the scene.
The woman was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and is still in a serious condition.
Detectives from the Armed Crime Taskforce were at the caravan on Georgette Crescent, Endeavour Hills, between 2pm and 3.30pm and at Lonsdale Street, Dandenong between 4pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday in a plea to speak with anyone who has any knowledge about the incident.
A FACE image of the man was released by investigators in the hope someone would be able to identify him.
The man was Caucasian, aged in his 30s or 40s and wearing a high visibility jacket.
Armed Crime Taskforce officers believe the man tried to use a stolen card at an ATM on the corner of Lonsdale and Clow Streets, Dandenong, about 4.05pm on 21 May.
Investigators have also released footage of the man at the ATM.
There is also a second man who used the ATM about the same time and detectives are appealing for that man to come forward as he may be able to provide information about the first man’s identity.
The second man was carrying a small yellow JB Hifi bag at the time he used the ATM.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
