Dozen spared in pharmacy crash

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THERE was a surprise visitor to Richard Edwards Chemmart Pharmacy in Narre Warren, after a car ploughed through the store’s front window on Wednesday morning.
An 85-year-old man drove through the chemist front window and door on Webb Street around 11am after confusing the accelerator for the brake.
Pharmacy proprietor Richard Edwards said it was fortunate no one was hurt.
“There were about 12 people in the shop at the time, but they were in a different spot luckily,” Mr Edwards said.
“A lot of the clean-up will hopefully be done by the weekend,” he said.
The crash caused significant damage, but the store’s shutters were still operational.
Mr Edwards also said the chemist was insured.
