Lake comes to life

By BRIDGET COOK

THE night will come alive in Lynbrook this weekend at the annual Lynbrook Lake Lantern Festival.
The Lynbrook Resident’s Association (LRA) will host the festival on Saturday night from 5 to 9.30pm at Banjo Paterson Park.
There will be a lantern release on the lake at dusk, about 7.30pm, which will be followed by the kids’ lantern walk.
Floating lanterns can be purchased on the night and a small amount of flying lanterns will also released by member of the LRA staff.
Vanessa Watson from the LRA encouraged people to come along to the free festival.
“Come down, socialise with your friends and neighbours and support your LRA in our first event to kick off the summer season,” she said.
There will be plenty on offer to keep the whole family happy including two jumping castles, kids sport demonstrations, lantern painting, CFA display, girl guide stall and musician Josh Tooth performing for the night.
There will also be food and drink available including a barbeque, fairy floss, ice cream van, coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts.
