EVER wanted to feature in a calendar? Berwick Lodge Primary School will now get that chance.
The school is one of 12 winners of the 2014 Chemmart Calendar School Art Project organised by Richard Edwards Chemmart Pharmacy.
The competition, which ran through July and August, called on students to ‘play with their food’ by illustrating their favourite healthy recipe.
Earlier this month, the school was formally announced as a winner of the calendar competition and presented with a $1000 cheque to go towards health and wellbeing programs at their school.
Rebecca Edwards, from Chemmart, said it was a fantastic effort from Berwick Lodge because the competition was extremely strong.
“This entry showed a creativity and enthusiasm to create healthy recipes that couldn’t be ignored.”
Ms Edwards said the ‘Play with your Food’ theme was a great opportunity for children to think about how healthy eating can affect their wellbeing.
“You’re never too young to learn about health and wellbeing,” she said.
“The calendar competition is therefore designed to help educate primary school aged children about looking after themselves better through healthier life choices.”
The winning entries are currently on display at www.chemmart.com.au/calendarcompeition and the 2014 Chemmart Calendar is now available from the Narre Warren store.
