Road toll hits 200

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THE Victorian road toll is now 200, following a collision in Endeavour Hills yesterday (Sunday).
A male pedestrian became the 200th road fatality in the state after he was hit by a 55-year-old Endeavour Hills man as he crossed Heatherton Road near the intersection of The Green before 8.30am.
The driver stopped to help the pedestrian, who was transported to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the pedestrian was yet to be identified and that the driver was not at fault.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The Victorian road toll was 246 at this time last year.
