Exhibitions reveal rich heritage

THE talents of two local artists are showcased in exhibitions at the Casey Civic Centre this month.
Zakikoxol by Hugo R Campos Godboy and Light fract-ments by Ilona Jetmar are now on display at the Narre Warren centre until 29 January.
City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the exhibitions explored both of the artists’ heritages in a range of striking and thought-provoking artworks.
“Zakikoxol features a collection of black and white crayon drawings inspired by Toltec culture and Mayan codices,” he said.
“While Light fract-ments presents an evocative collection of oil paintings, featuring abstracted and distorted landscapes.
“The City of Casey is proud to support local artists and invites residents to view these exhibitions.”
Entry to the exhibitions is free and artworks are available for purchase.
The Casey Civic Centre Art Space is located in the foyer of the City of Casey Council Offices, Magid Drive.
It is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
A new program of exhibitions will be launched in February.
