Big launch for leisure centre

By BRIDGET COOK

ENDEAVOUR Hills Leisure Centre (EHLC) will celebrate the launch of its $2.1 million redeveloped gymnastics facility next month.
The City of Casey, in partnership with YMCA Victoria, will launch the expanded and refurbished centre on Saturday 1 February, from noon to 3pm, with activities and attractions for the whole community.
The redeveloped gymnastics hall is more than double its previous size, and has been completely refurbished to become the sport’s showpiece venue in the south east of Melbourne.
EHLC Gymsports co-ordinator Samantha Lowe said the launch was highly anticipated within the local gymnastics community, and there would be opportunities for all to participate on the day.
“It’s very exciting,” she said.
“After watching the centre transform over the past few months, people will be able to come down and give the new venue a go.
“There are many activities planned for the day, and we will also be running a competition to win a free term of gymnastics classes during the afternoon.”
Ms Lowe said that the community had been patient as the redevelopment works took place, and the result had been worth the wait.
The City of Casey contributed $2.1 million towards the redevelopment of the facility.
