Family fun for free

AKOONAH Park will come alive with free family fun this month for the 16th annual Casey Kids Carnival.
There will be live entertainment, amusement rides, an animal farm and face painters throughout the day, topped off with a screening of Despicable Me 2 at 8pm.
The annual event, to be held on Saturday 22 March, aims to give families across Casey a free day out.
Casey mayor Geoff Ablett urged everyone to head along.
“The event draws great crowds of children and their families from all over our vibrant city to gather together and enjoy a large variety of free rides, activities and roving entertainment,” he said.
“I invite children and their parents to get into the spirit and take advantage of this terrific event which has been extended this year to include a twilight screening of Despicable Me 2 at 8pm.”
There will be a variety of free live entertainment for children including The Smurfs Clumsy Show, and Kazoos and Chomper the Crocodile all on the main stage.
The event will be jam-packed with amusement rides, the Myuna Farm animal farm, face
painters, food stalls, workshops including ‘Colour a Foldable Frisbee’, sand art, Monster Grass Heads and Mega Blocks and roving entertainers.
The carnival will run from 1pm to 7pm with the movie screening to follow at Akoonah Park, Berwick.
