STATE Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews has outlined cuts to the TAFE sector and level crossing congestion as the party’s priority concerns in the Narre Warren South electorate.
Speaking to residents at a community dinner at the Narre Warren Bowls Club, organised annually by Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley, Mr Andrews noted that the removal of level crossings such as those on Hallam Road and Thompsons Road were high on the party’s agenda.
“Residents expressed concerns about Denis Napthine’s cuts to education and training, cuts to our schools, and how these are impacting on the local community,” Mr Andrews said after the event.
“They also made it clear to me that they are sick of being stuck in traffic and want Labor to remove the level crossings at Thompsons Road and Hallam Road.
“I was able to give them a rock solid commitment that a Labor Government would do just that.”
Ms Graley said the Victorian Opposition Leader was welcomed by over 100 residents from the electorate who attended the dinner.
“Overall, a fantastic evening was had by all and it was such a great opportunity for residents to spend time with Daniel,” she said.
“He was able to hear first-hand the concerns of residents and get a firm understanding of the issues facing our local community,” she said.
