Stars out on the tiles

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A NARRE WARREN tile shop played host to two of The Block’s biggest stars earlier this month.
On Saturday 12 April super couple Kyal and Kara from Channel Nine’s hit show stopped by Narre Warren Beaumont Tiles to share their style hints with a bunch of interested onlookers.
Beaumont Tiles Narre Warren owner Neil Gilroy said he enlisted the help of Kyal and Kara to raise the profile of his two-year-old store.
“I’ve just recently purchased that franchise in Narre Warren and we just needed to get it out in the public so people knew we were there,” he said.
“Some people were driving straight past – we wanted them to know that a tile shop was there.
“We want local builders and the local community in Berwick and further out to know there’s a Beaumont Tiles in the area.”
Mr Gilroy said Kyal and Kara had been extremely impressed with the store and that business had certainly increased as a result of their visit.
“They loved it,” he said.
“Kyle and Kara are really personable down-to-earth people.
“They fitted straight in.”
Mr Gilroy also noted that the tile industry had become a priority for home owners who want to design their house.
“Tiles are now the flooring of choice because they’re easier to keep clean than carpet and they don’t scratch like timber,” he said.
“They’re also a smart choice in terms of the cost of ownership as they’re cool in summer and can help heat the home in winter.”
Narre Warren Beaumont Tiles is at the forefront of this industry shift, with innovative touch-screen technology called Scan and Play which places any showroom tile into a virtual room.
Kyal said one of his favourite experiences on The Block was when he and Kara designed their tiled bathroom.
“The whole Block experience was amazing – out of all the rooms we built, the luxury 10 out of 10 bathroom with the hexagonal mosaic feature tiled wall was by far our favourite,” he said.
Beaumont Tiles is Australia’s largest tile retailer with 93 stores across most states and territories, supplying more tiles to Australian homes and builders than any other tile retailer.
