Speedster’s sudden stop

A 24-YEAR-OLD driver was yesterday arrested after ploughing his car through a fence in Hallam.
Police said officers on foot had earlier attempted to intercept the Hallam man who was first seen driving a VE Holden Commodore along Hallam Road around 11.30am on Monday before turning into Star Crescent and speeding down Wedgewood Road where he soon crashed.
The man is expected to be charged at a later date with multiple traffic offences.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to Monday’s incident as they encourage the community to take ownership of road trauma through the Road to Zero campaign.
Police are inviting community members to lend support to the campaign by posting their ideas and sharing their stories through their Facebook and Twitter pages using the hashtag #roadtozero.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
