Cops’ surprise find puts drug lab on ice

POLICE have stumbled across a drug lab in Doveton last night while investigating an unrelated incident in the area.
Two men and a woman have been arrested after police found the clandestine laboratory, drug manufacturing equipment and a loaded shotgun while making routine inquiries at a Doveton Avenue house around 7pm on Wednesday.
A 48-year-old Rye man and a 21-year-old Doveton man were arrested in relation to the lab and are currently in custody, assisting police with their investigation.
A 38-year-old Doveton woman was also arrested and has been released pending further inquiries.
A crime scene guard was put in place overnight at the property, and detectives from the Clandestine Laboratory Squad are expected to investigate the site this morning.
