Fine message

IT WAS good to read that Casey Ward councillors Sam Aziz and Louise Berkelmans are concerned for our travelling train public, that illegal parking around Narre Warren Train Station will lead them to being fined (Station Parking Commuter Clampdown, Berwick News, 28 August).
I wrote to this page three weeks ago explaining the lack of parking due to the ever expanding growth corridor of Narre Warren, Berwick and Clyde.
I stated when running for council in 2012 that we now need a multi-level car park, which also could include Hallam and Berwick.
This now should be an election issue in the upcoming state election in November and our council should be writing to all parties concerned including Metro Trains.
I did question the park opposite the Narre Warren Train Station that sits there doing nothing, and a kind reader responded by telling us it is council land.
So, back to my ward councillors, thank you for informing our train travelling public of your service to the community and letting them know they will be fined if they illegally park around Narre Warren station.
Is this the best you can do?
Rex Flannery,
Narre Warren South.
