Musical is on the button

STUDENTS from James Cook Primary School had a curious case of acting fever this week.
The Endeavour Hills school took to the stage on Wednesday night at the Drum Theatre in Dandenong for its annual musical, this year entitled The Curious Case of James Cook Button.
School principal Kathy Sharp said students had been busy rehearsing and practicing their acting, singing and dancing with great dedication every week leading up to the performance.
“The students’ hard work came alive as they captivated the audience with their outstanding talent and enthusiasm,” she said.
“The school musical provides each child with the opportunity to shine on stage and often becomes a highlight in their life as they move through primary school.
“I’m sure that all those who attended on the night would agree with me that the students were extraordinary.”
The musical centred around James Cook Button’s 100th birthday celebration where he and his family reminisce about his outstanding life achievements.
Over his career, James has starred in a variety of movies and televison shows.
Each year level plays out a different movie or television show including Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tarzan, The Simpsons, Back to the Future, Australia’s Got Talent, Rocky, The Great Gatsby and The School of Rock.
