A LYNDHURST woman has been named a finalist in awards which recognise mums in business who juggle a busy work and family life.
Priscilla Sejas, who runs The Baby Gift Company, is a finalist in the St George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards, joining nine other finalists in the customer service category.
The awards are presented by The AusMumpreneur Network and aim to celebrate mums in business who are achieving success in entrepreneurship, product development, services and innovation, in businesses throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Ms Sejas said she was thrilled to be announced as a finalist in the awards.
“I feel very proud of my business, The Baby Gift Company, as I started it at home with the love and support of my husband and children around me watching it grow,” she said.
“I am extremely honoured to be a top-10 finalist. To win the customer service award would be sensational.”
Chris Screen, from St George Banking Group, said the awards were designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balanced motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
“We’re seeing an increasing amount of mothers who are now starting and growing successful businesses, often from their home office,” he said.
“Small businesses play a vital role in Australia’s economy and our focus at St George is to help business owners prosper and grow.
“The calibre of the award finalists is extremely strong and provides a great inspiration for other Australians considering starting their own business.”
The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala event on Saturday 11 October.
