Terror on streets

TWO police members have been stabbed and an 18-year-old youth shot dead following an incident at the Endeavour Hills Police Station last night.
It is understood that a Victoria Police member and an Australian Federal Police member, from the Joint Counter Terrorism Team, met the 18-year-old at the station last night in relation to an ongoing investigation.
It is believed that an altercation happened around 7.45pm outside the police station on Heatherton Road which resulted in the stabbing of the two police members.
One of the officers has then discharged his gun and fatally shot the 18-year-old.
Both police members were taken to hospital and are in a stable condition.
Immediately following the incident, police closed Heatherton Road between Matthew Flinders Drive and John Fawkner Drive to both east and west bound traffic.
Drivers are still asked to avoid the area within the vicinity of the police station. Endeavour Hills Police Station has been closed until further notice and police ask that any inquiries be directed to the Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111.
An investigation has commenced which will be overseen by Professional Standards Command members.
Homicide Squad detectives are on scene and will investigate on behalf of the coroner.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
