Taqiyya technique?

NAUREEN Choudry in her letter (Islam Answers Back, News, Opinion, 9 October) is either very ignorant of what is going on in the world, as well as ignorant of the Qur’an, or is following the Islamic doctrine of taqiyya (lies and deceit to further Islam).
She asks for evidence of some of Mr Woolf’s statements (State Of Islam, News Opinion, 2 October), all of which are true.
This evidence is readily available from authoritative and reliable sources, such as Amnesty International and at www.gatestone.com, which documents Muslim activities around the world, as well as from numerous other reliable sites on the internet.
I will mention only two of her queries.
Firstly, she should certainly know that that under Sharia law women are worth only half the value of men. Surely this is “denigrating” women.
Secondly, she says “there are no Muslims in Africa trying to take over different countries and trying to implement Sharia law by force”.
Boko Haram in Nigeria has started to occupy towns and villages in north-eastern Nigeria, declaring that the territory under its control is part of an Islamic caliphate, and imposing Islam everywhere it goes, forcing residents to observe strict Islamic sharia law or be killed.
Also, very recently in Libya, the Islamist militant group Ansar al-Sharia took strategic parts of the city of Benghazi, and declared it to be an Islamic Emirate independent from the rest of Libya.
Both of these are easily confirmed by searching the internet (for example at allafrica.com).
I agree with Naureen Choudry urging people to read books to find out about Islam. If people read the Qur’an, they would read the following statements and commandments.
Jews are “apes and pigs” (2:63-65, 5:59-60, 7:166), Jews and Christians who reject Muhammad are “the most vile of created beings” (98:6), “Jihad is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it” (2:216), “fight… until all religion is for Allah” (8:39), “Fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them and seize them, confine them, and lie in wait for them in every place of ambush” (9:5), and many more similar.
Do these show Islam to be “a religion of peace, empathy, love and compassion” as Naureen Choudry claims?
And what about the acts of jihad like the destruction of the twin towers, numerous suicide bombings, including the Bali bombing, and the actions of the Islamic states, all of which are fully justified by the Qur’an?
Are these “beautiful”?
