Got a monster to sell?

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

IT’S Monster Garage Sale time for Narre Warren.
This Saturday the 1st Narre Warren North Scout Group will hold a Monster Garage Sale at its base, located at 54 Memorial Drive, Narre Warren North.
Scout representative Lorelle Smart said the main aim of the garage sale was to help raise funding for the group’s ongoing hall overhaul project.
“The last time that any major upgrades were made on the 80-year-old structure was many years ago,” she said.
“Improvements will include an extension and a wheel chair accessible toilet and shower to improve use, and we will have the ability to hire the hall out and continue being a resource to the community for years to come.”
Visitors to the Monster Garage Sale will also be treated to a sausage sizzle and a variety of stalls.
“Part of the scout philosophy and practice is to be resourceful and the garage sale is an opportunity to raise funds whilst recycling and repurposing items,” Ms Smart said.
“Our membership is growing, it grew by over 40 per cent last year and the garage sale is a great way to invite the community to participate in our group… we will have activities for boys and girls to try scouting on the day.”
The 1st Narre Warren North Scout Group is participating on the Garage Sale Trail with their counterparts, the Narre Warren North Girl Guide Group.
