Discussion or bloodletting… we’ll see

By DAVID NAGEL

PCN Sports Alliance will make a special presentation to Casey Cardinia Football Netball League clubs before the end of this week addressing a list of grievances from the clubs that has them seeking a withdrawal from their governing body.
Football and netball representatives from the nine clubs, Beaconsfield, Berwick, Cranbourne, Doveton, Hampton Park, Narre Warren, Pakenham, ROC and Tooradin, will join the PCNSA Board and AFL South East Region General Manager, Jeremy Bourke, in the first sign of negotiation since the clubs expressed their dissatisfaction with the league and its operations.
PCNSA Chief Executive Officer Jeff Jones said it was a positive sign that the meeting was taking place.
“It’s important that we are getting all the clubs together to discuss their issues,” Jones said.
“Some issues are valid, and some maybe not, but it’s important that we are able to make this presentation to address the clubs’ concerns.
“I see it as a positive.”
Points raised against PCNSA by the clubs include poor communication, a lack of trust, exorbitant fees, poor strategic direction and a general lack of service and attention.
