Walk kids out and about

ABOUT 190 students from Cranbourne South Primary School put their best foot forward last week to take part in Walk to School Day.
Junior School co-ordinator Rachael Richardson said the school had a “terrific response” to the event with more than half of the school community involved.
“Students were very enthusiastic and so were the parents,” she said.
Ms Richardson said this was the first time the cohort walked from Botanic Ridge Boulevard Park.
“It’s a more open space and safer to walk along the road, with more children from that area as well,” she said.
Children are encouraged to walk on this day but Ms Richardson said they often scoot or ride to school on other days during the term.
“It was a fantastic day and everyone had a great time,” she said.
“It was a very popular event.”
