THE Coalition has promised a $1 million upgrade of the Don Bosco School in Narre Warren if successful in the State Election this Saturday.
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North Amanda Stapledon announced the funding promise for the Catholic primary school on Wednesday.
“The Napthine Coalition Government is building better schools for all Victorian students and I’m delighted to announce a $1 million upgrade of the Don Bosco School as part of a $120 million investment in low-fee Catholic and Independent schools if the Victorian Coalition Government is re-elected,” she said.
“This $1 million investment will deliver new classrooms, through a dollar-for-dollar matched funding agreement with the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria.
“The Napthine Government is committed to funding modern, high quality school infrastructure, and if elected, I will work hard with the great schools here in Narre Warren to support local students and families.”
The funding pledge comes after the Liberal Party launched a new Early Childhood Assessment mobile app in Narre Warren North earlier this month, which they hope will improve the assessment and learning of young children.
Technology Minister Gordon Rich-Phillips, who launched the app with Ms Stapledon at Narre Warren North Kindergarten, spoke of the new technology’s potential.
“Educators will now be able to work in a digital environment for observation and assessment instead of the traditional paper-based method, which will provide a quicker and more efficient way of documenting children’s learning and development outcomes,” he said.
“The app is designed to improve the efficiency of observations and assessments and support educators in developing learning plans that can be better tailored to the individual needs of each child.”
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren South Susan Serey earlier promised $20,000 each for the Narre South Cricket Club and the Berwick Regional Churches Soccer Club, should her party get re-elected on the weekend.
