Cougars back on track

IT WAS only fitting that the two local sides in the Victorian Summer League Baseball Division 2 competition fought out such a thrilling, high scoring contest – with Berwick City outlasting Springvale 10-8 on Sunday at Cyril Molyneux Reserve.
The result marked a welcome return to form for the Casey side, which had lost its past four games – including a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Springvale in its mid-week showdown last week.
The Cougars are currently sixth on the Division 2 standings, level with Fitzroy and Springvale on four wins and six losses apiece after week 10.
After their mid-week fixture last night (Wednesday) against Port Melbourne, the two sides will face off again this Sunday from 3.30pm at JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne.
