A MAN has been extricated from a car wreckage after allegedly crashing through the barrier wall on the Monash Freeway near the Hallam Bypass on Tuesday.
The CFA were called to the scene around 7.20am following reports the man, aged in his 40s, was believed to be trapped inside the outbound car after veering off the road and into the wall in Narre Warren near Ernst Wanke Road.
The occupant was rushed to The Alfred hospital, with the scene under control by 8am.
Six CFA trucks attended the incident, including from Hallam, Narre Warren North and Nar Nar Goon.
Traffic delays ensued for both the outbound and inbound lanes of the freeway.
