Key role for Atifa

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

ANOTHER hardworking and determined Narre Warren South P-12 student has been awarded the Denese Bartlett Memorial Scholarship.
Atifa Ashgari received this year’s award only last month. The award is given yearly to a female student from the school in honour of Denese Bartlett.
Denese was a local mother who, while fighting cancer, led the campaign for the establishment of Narre Warren South P-12 College.
Ms Graley commended Atifa for showing leadership and dedication throughout the year, and serving as a role model to her peers.
“Atifa has worked tirelessly as part of the college’s Student Voice team, playing a key role in developing their very successful YouTube channel,” Ms Graley said.
“Throughout the year Atifa has also organised whole school events, represented the school at various functions and even helped design the school’s commemorative jumper for next year.
“Not to mention her outstanding VCE results in Math Methods, General Maths and Chemistry.
“There is no doubt the fighting spirit of Denese Bartlett lives on in our exceptional Atifa and I know she will continue to play an important leadership role within our community.”
