A HAMPTON Park resident who has been selected to attend the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Academy needs support.
Twenty-year-old Sontya Trahar will be one of the many local acts to be part of the Send Me to the CMAA mayoral charity concert on 19 December.
Mayor Mick Morland has encouraged local residents to tune into the home grown talent.
“Enjoy an evening of amazing local talent including Cathy Dobson, Chris Newman, Nia Robertson, Journey Bound, Jay Bruce and Tara Dowler and, of course, Sontya herself,” he said.“Funds raised from the event will support Sontya to head to the academy in Tamworth in January, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“The academy is unique within Australia and provides intense tuition in all aspects of the country music industry and advice on career pathways and development.
“Sontya is proof that we have exceptional talent here in Casey. We can’t wait to see her performing alongside some of the country’s finest music acts.”
Head along to the Cranbourne Community Theatre on Brunt Street, Cranbourne, on Friday 19 December from 7pm.
