THE Casey-Cardinia Referral Network (CCRN) was ecstatic to be able to provide a local not-for-profit group with a significant donation this week.
The network donated $500 to Christians Helping in Primary Schools (CHIPS) on Tuesday.
“The Casey Cardinia Referral Network likes to support a community organisation that in turn supports people that are doing it tough, and especially during the Christmas season,” CCRN president Paul Tero said.
“CHIPS is just such an organisation.
“As a long-time supporter of CHIPS, CCRN knows how well the team goes about their work with primary-school aged children in critical situations.
“We know that the funds we give to this multiple Casey Volunteer Organisation of the Year winner will go directly to needs that are there throughout our community.”
CHIPS, based in the state’s south-east, was established in 1999 and works with primary school children who are deemed as being in crisis.
Incorporated in 2003, CHIPS has now founded the Life Gets Better Camps and the Day Away program for children from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
The CCRN is a non-profit organisation which accepts one member from a different profession.
Each person is encouraged to participate in giving referrals in the course of their normal business to people in the Casey community who could benefit from the services of another member of the network.
