THE City of Casey and the Melbourne Stars cricket team joined forces last weekend for the municipality’s third annual Family Fun Day.
Thousands of cricket fans visited Casey Fields in Cranbourne East on Sunday to meet the Melbourne Stars who spent the sunny day signing autographs and posing for photos.
“The first class sporting infrastructure available at Casey Fields has allowed us to form partnerships with elite level sporting teams providing great access to high quality sporting opportunities right in our own backyard,” Casey Mayor Mick Morland said.
“We have a strong sporting culture in Casey and community partnerships with clubs such as the Melbourne Stars help to encourage and support grass roots participation in sport and recreation which is so important for the health and vitality of our city.”
