HAMPTON PARK BOWLS
THE week started well for Hampton Park when Club Men’s Singles Champion, Ian Bartlett won his Champion of Champions semi-final. The final of the Casey Bowls Division will be held at Cranbourne on Sunday, 8 February.
In pennant bowls, there are still three rounds to go in the normal season, and the dreaded sporting ‘f’ word (finals) is still a long way away.
Hampton Park’s Division 1 midweek team kept their narrow margin in second place on the ladder with a good 21-shot win over Noble Park. Playing at home all rinks were successful after a slow start.

At Ferntree Gully, the Division-2 team had a horror day against the top of the ladder team on their treacherous synthetic carpet. Only one rink was successful on the last end. John Nunan, June Damon, Marion Battaglia and Ray Wood scored two shots on the last end to win.

For the Saturday Division 2 team, the ‘f’ situation is much better. Playing at home, they had a good 19-shot win over the strong Clayton Club. Three of the rinks won by seven shots each.

Division 4 improved their ladder position with a strong win at Berwick.

Division 6 struggled against the big Mulgrave Country Club team at home.

Hampton Park’s Division 8 team had a bye/walkover due to Burden Park withdrawing their team.
