Blended with love

LOVE will be in the air everywhere on Valentine’s Day this year as the City of Casey gets set to host a romantic event.
Wilson Botanic Park will play host to many lovebirds on Saturday 14 February with endless entertainment and a screening of romantic comedy, Blended.
City of Casey Mayor Mick Morland will head there along with his wife and encouraged other people to do the same.
The mayor will hand out roses to guests upon arrival.
“The picturesque gardens provide a beautiful setting for a romantic Valentine’s Day,” he said.
“Couples may choose to relax and enjoy each other’s company with a picnic before settling in to watch a movie, or you might like to wander through the park and get involved in the activities on offer.”
Cheese and wine, giant chess and a photo booth will be among the entertainment provided.
Valentine’s Day at Wilson Botanic Park Berwick will kick off at 6.30pm with wine and cheese in the Rose Garden and a violinist.
People can then make their way to the Lakeside Lawn where there will be fairy floss available or head to Fairy Dell to take a fun photo as a memento.
Live music will start at 7.15pm before the movie gets underway at 9pm until 11pm.
Picnic packs with a wrap, fruit, cheese, cake and soft drink will be available to purchase or people can bring along their own food.
The park is located at 688 Princes Highway, Berwick. BYO picnic option is $25 for an adult, $45 for a couple and $15 for a child. For the picnic box option, adults can come in for $40, couples for $75 and a child for $30.
Tickets are available from the Wilson Botanic Park Berwick Victor Centre at the gardens, or by calling 9707 5818.
