THE third round of the Cardinia Beaconhills’ Summer Cup was played on Saturday with siblings Matthew and Michael French making it through to the final after defeating Shane Wheat and Michael Tarley 2/1. They will now go up against Noel Pye and Paul Jones after their 2/1 win against Peter Langdon and Adrian Wheat.
A field of 142 players competed in Saturday’s stableford event which saw Andy Kiker (7) win the A grade with 41 points on a count-back. Keiran Timmins (15) took out the B Grade with an impressive 45 points and Craig Holland (29) won the C Grade with 44 stableford points.
The first round of the Beaconhills’ Cup par event was played on Sunday with Mark Jensen-Schmidt (17) winning the comp with +6 to runner-up Ivan Dames (18) with +4 on a count-back.
MIDWEEK
Paul Jones (13) was the winner of the Australia Day stableford competition with 41 points.
A-Grade player Brad Vigilante (15) won Tuesday’s members comp with 40 points, while Tony McNamee (27) won the B Grade with an impressive 44 points.
Thursday’s stableford event attracted 92 players along with high scores in all grades. Gary Jollands (7) won the A Grade with 41 points, Paul Rubens (12) was the B-Grade winner with 47 points and Jeffrey Langley won the C Grade with 46 points.
LADIES
Wednesday’s stableford event was won by Tracey Brown (28) with 42 points and Kerri Greig was the winner of the 13-hole Summer Comp with a nett score of 46 ½.
