SHOW jumping at the Berwick Show is an established major event on the show jumping circuit.
Jumps organisers pride themselves on providing a program that will both please competitors and entertain spectators.
The team, which includes well known and respected course designer David Sheppard, judges Ann Garner and Annie White, announcer Brian Brennan and equipment supplied by the Port Phillip Showjumping Club help make this a truly enjoyable occasion.
The shady and well-presented grounds of Akoonah Park are another feature for competitors and spectators alike as February can often be very warm. The jumping arena is always well prepared by the Akoonah Park committee and provides a suitable surface for the riders.
Thanks to National Australia Bank, organisers are able to provide a large grandstand for arena viewing in comfort for over 200 spectators shaded by beautiful trees.
Organisers gratefully acknowledge the sponsors that help make this a great show. This year we welcome Delplant, a local construction company owned by Sean and Jodie Delaney. Their sponsorship will be going to our best performed show jumper over the two days of jumping.
Josie and Sean Hamilton, from Berwick Drafting and Design, continue their sponsorship of the very exciting 1.30m Open Class that attracts some of the best horses around the country on the Saturday.
Safety Steel Structures of Dandenong continue their support by sponsoring the most popular class of 1.10m horses. This is where we see our young promising horses coming up through the grades.
Racing Victoria are sponsors of the best performed Thoroughbred horse over the two days of showjumping.
Skye Park Rugs, of Pakenham, once again provide trophy rugs that every competitor wants to win.
And last but by no means least, organisers feel fortunate to have the National Australia Bank continue their support of the Sunday show jumping program.
Show jumping at Berwick Show is definitely a must go see, so buy yourself an icecream, find a seat in the shaded NAB grandstand, sit back and enjoy watching the skills of horse and rider negotiate these exciting show jump courses.
