Cowardly parkland assault

By BRIDGET SCOTT

A MAN was left with a broken jaw and a severe eye injury after he was allegedly robbed and assaulted while walking through parklands in Narre Warren earlier this month.
The victim was approached when walking through a park on the corner of Darling Way and Upton Crescent. Police believe two offenders have approached the victim and used force to steal his cigarettes.
It is alleged they also demanded his wallet, however when the victim refused one offender punched him from behind and knocked him unconscious.
It’s believed the victim had his mobile phone as well as his car and house keys stolen, and was treated by paramedics before he was taken to Monash Medical Centre in Clayton. One of the males was described as Caucasian, slim, around 175 centimetres tall and wearing dark clothing including a hoodie. He is also believed to be around 18 or 19 years of age.
The other man was also described as Caucasian with a solid build and around 170 centimetres.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
