NARRE WARREN BOWLS
Saturday Division 2
At home to the strong Mulgrave club once again the good Narre side turned up to play and with all rinks up beat the second ranked side by 36 shots 98/62.
With only five points from second place on the ladder with a finals berth secured and possibly a semi against the same side a game, it can now approach with confidence after its win.
Karen Murray, Keith Mark, Rod Lane, Ian Brotherton 22/18
Wilma Haringsma, Paul O’Day, Eric Sydenham, Iain Stevenson 29/15
Shirley Bell Alan Dawson, Erik Luyters, Neville Bradley 26/18
Ernesto Vergara, Andy Kidd, Jimmy Millar, Jeff Parker 21/11
Division 3 away to Waverley Golf
With only one rink up it did not have the goods against a better opponent on the day and went down 63/94.
It must win next week or depend on results of other games to avoid relegation.
A disappointing season.
Peter Lister, Mathew Fitt, Stan Robinson, Norm Hosmer 19/16

Division 7
Division 7 also played Mulgrave at home in a game that was critical as a win would see it clear on top of the ladder.
And it did just that with a 24 shot win 83/59 with three rinks up to consolidate its top position and a home final its reward as it cannot be displaced with a clear 24 point lead over the second side.
Janice Moran, Reg Young, Ethel VanMaanen, Micki Horton 22/9
Len O’Brien, Steve Boyd, Janis Dukats, John Green 26/12
Glen Cadman, Jim Sheahan, Rick Hoare, Brian Fraser 15/24
Arthur Fitt, Graham Dodd, Peter Castricum, Damian Brick 20/14
Division 8
Travelled to Murrumbeena with both rinks losing went down 27/43 but the experience the new bowlers gained should stand them in good stead for next season.
Margo Worsley, Travis Moore, Jack Norman, Andy Tobler 13/19
Zade Bulmer, Darren Moore, Peter Rouse, Peter Pater 14/24
Tuesday Division 1
The match was played at Burden Park and it was not a happy day with only a tie and two losses to show for its effort, the side again not capable of consecutive wins after a big win last week.
Unfortunately the consistency has not been there all season and the side finds itself in the lower half of the field with only one game remaining.
Janice Moran, Keith Mark, Judy Naughton, Ian Brotherton 14/19
Wilma Haringsma, Enid Gibb, Jimmy Millar, Eric Sydenham 21/21
Shirley Bell, Gary Gilchrist, Rod Lane 19/21
Division 3
At home to a strong Pakenham unit it was totally outclassed and suffered its biggest defeat for the season by 47 shots.
Carl Lapham, Truus Henneman, Ethel Van Maanen, Micki Horton 12/20
Nancy Pugh, Sep VanMaanen, Peter Pater, Ray Pigdon 8/35
Len O’Brien, Arthur Fitt, Andy Tobler, John Green 16/28
But with one game to go and secure in fourth spot, the side must forget the loss and approach the last game in a positive frame of mind leading into the finals.
