SUPPORT for a single mother never goes unappreciated.
And the fridge Sarah and her five sons were given by The Good Guys in Narre Warren was anything but a small gesture.
Sarah, a single mother of five boys – all with varying degrees of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ranging in age from 4 to 15 – found herself at a loss when the family’s fridge stopped working over Christmas.
The family, who are currently receiving assistance and support from Windermere’s Disability Services team, were faced with the pressure of finding a working fridge while also meeting various medical expenses.
Having heard about their plight, Good Guys franchisee Matthew Sheedy presented Sarah and her sons with a new fridge last Tuesday 24 February.
“Having a working fridge means so much to us, I can’t thank them enough for their generosity, it means more to us than a lot of people would realise,” Sarah said.
Windermere CEO Dr Lynette Buoy, said she was overjoyed by The Good Guys commitment to the community and their contribution in helping a Casey family in their time of need.
“Each year Windermere continues to advance its vision of a stronger, connected and more supported community, with the assistance of local businesses like The Good Guys, we are able to come together reinforcing this vision,” she said.
Windermere, based in Narre Warren, has been providing help and resources to people in need for more than 150 years.
