EVEN if it has been there for years, it could still be a melanoma.
Some melanomas grow very slowly. They change slowly over many years, so that the patient does not recognise them as unusual. Neither does the patient’s friends or relatives or regular health professionals.
Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes is required to spot them. Sometimes, looking back at old photos will reveal a definite change in a skin lesion.
