POLICE at Narre Warren station were faced with a potentially dangerous situation last week when a man walked in and presented 14 detonators.
The bomb response unit was called to the police station after the man handed them in and told police he found them in a second hand drawer set that he recently purchased.
Police have advised people to call triple zero when they find a detonator, leave it where it is and wait for police to attend the scene.
Detective Senior Sergeant Garry Kear said the best decision is to get advice over the phone first, and said this was not the first time people had come in with detonators.
“Don’t move them,” he said.
