Meneilly makes it two

CARDINIA BEACONHILLS GOLF

IT WAS been a big weekend of golf at Cardinia Beaconhills with the final round of the 2015 Club Championship played on Saturday.
The top 12 in each grade played off to decide the titles, and it was Brian Meneilly who won the Championship for the second year in a row with a total score of 294 over four rounds.
Noel Pye was in second place when he went into the last round in the B Grade, and after a great round on Saturday he secured himself the B Grade Championship with a gross score of 326.
Wes Dunkley also went into the last round in second place and won the C Grade with a gross score of 357.
Saturday’s stableford competition saw Peter Langdon (8) return the best score in the A Grade with 39 points, Darren Richmond (14) was the B-Grade winner with 41 points while Stephen Jones (19) won the C Grade with 39 stableford points.
Playing off a handicap of 19, David Norris returned the best score in Sunday’s stableford competition with 40 points to runner-up John Holden (18) with 39 points.
MIDWEEK
Len Nash (27) was the winner of Tuesday’s stableford competition with 43 points to runner-up Doug Taylor (27) with 41 points.
Thursday’s stableford competition attracted 71 players out onto the course.
Ross Edwards (13) won the A Grade with 41 points, while Bob Douglas (24) returned the best score in the C Grade with 38 points on a count-back.
The Rotary Club Charity Golf Day was played on Wednesday with the club’s very own president Laurie Fenton, treasurer John Makarucha, life member John Barker and Barry Pitcher winning the event.
LADIES
Bev Eckhardt returned the best score in the Women’s stableford event played on Wednesday with 34 points on a count-back.
